Task Availability

Your main list in Herding Cats shows only the tasks that you can make progress on right now. These tasks are referred to as “available”. There’s a number of factors that can make a task unavailable.

A task is unavailable if any of the following are true:

• It has a start date which is in the future
• It depends on 1 or more other tasks which aren’t complete
• It has idea status, since you haven’t decided whether this task really needs doing and what it involves yet.
• it is completed, since there’s no work left to do on it

You can see these unavailable tasks on the “All tasks” list, to get an idea of what’s coming up.
